The beachfront yoga shala hosts our meditation and yoga sessions.
Karen’s Living Room, is a library & art showcase, to give you historical & cultural context of the area with books, resources & artefacts collected over the years.
Dr. Irina’s botanical gardens surround the hotel and overlook the sea providing you with a walking tour right at the lodge. With a showcase of desert flora of trees, shrubs and medicinal plants collected from different areas and grown on lodge land, it is a first of its kind in Egypt.
Luxury rooms and a serene pool offer a beautiful environment to relax and reflect on your time in Egypt.
Special Guest :
Nouran Salah
Location: Cairo
Nouran is an Egyptian Muslim woman who is highly educated and well traveled with an extensive resume that includes public speaker, yoga and meditation teacher, art museum curator, non-profit founder, award-winning documentary subject, interior designer, retreat organizer, and “adventuresome warrior of freedom.”
Nouran Salah received her bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Advertising, and Applied Communication from Egypt’s Modern Sciences and Arts University in 2011. She later received a post-graduate diploma in Interior Design in 2013. In 2019, Nouran received a post-graduate diploma in social entrepreneurship from the Swedish Institute.
Nouran was a project design coordinator for the Cairo Governorate from 2014 to 2018.
The job that Nouran is most celebrated for is being the founder of Bel Bicycle and the Cairo Cycling Geckos. This carefree, nonconformist changemaker shocked the entire nation when she set off to cycle the unfriendly streets of Cairo to distribute free meals during Ramadan in an all-women caravan.
“I never imagined I could do all these things in one project; helping the poor, supporting refugee families, and empowering women by breaking unjustified social taboos, condensing so many messages in one endeavour,” she says. “I felt the country really needed this; I felt Egyptians would really do anything to help better our society.”
Setting off every day before breaking her fast, Nouran Salah took on the daunting streets of Cairo’s slums, cycling through traffic-laden bridges and roads engulfed in garbage, as she lead her all-female caravan to distribute meals for underprivileged people in Ramadan, honoring the festival's principles:
Nouran will inform and inspire us with stories from her life, experiences as a Muslim woman and the art of having a warrior mindset to create extraordinary good in your own life and the lives of others.
Special Guest :
Dr Irnia Springuel
Location: Wadi Sabarah
Dr. Irina is a professor in plant ecology, and known famously as an expert in desert botany. With over 50 years working in Egypt’s Eastern Desert, Dr Irina originally moved to Egypt from what was then The Soviet Union. She graduated from Leningrad University after gaining her BSc in Geobotany, then moved to Egypt to continue her postgraduate studies, completing an MSc and PhD in Ecology at Assiut University. Her Ph.D. research work on the First Cataract Islands near Aswan led to their declaration as protectorate in 1986, conserving these unique habitats.
Her incredibly successful career has made huge strives towards protecting desert ecosystems and the important botanic species that live there.
During her time working as a professor, Irina has forged a path for women to be able to travel and work in the desert area. Also encouraging, supporting, and nurturing the desires of women to enter the world of science, both of which had previously been prohibited. She also trained and educated many young botanists in Egypt’s deserts, spreading her knowledge, and continuing to increase awareness of the importance of desert life.
She has worked on numerous projects to preserve Egypt’s Natural heritage including the Wadi Allaqui Biosphere. You can find her published book “The Desert Garden” (ISBN 977-416,021-5) at our library and in book stores.
Prof. Irina will tell you that her biggest achievement is not her preservation efforts, books or the countless publications she wrote. It’s her investment in her students who today have spread across Egypt and the Middle East drawing attention and working to protect the fragile desert environment.
About 2000 plants of over 40 desert species are growing in the wadi bed. Dr Irina will guide us through Egypt’s wild flora where almost every plant has economic value supporting the life of the local nomads inhabiting the Egyptian deserts.
Most plants in this garden have been used in traditional medicine and its dry specimen is sold in herbal shops.

l offer that you will feel rebirthed, rejuvenated, and restored after experiencing Egypt with me, and embark on the rest of your life with passion and inspired vision, having worshipped the ancient divine feminine force on her sacred land, and awakened this divine feminine force in you, to burn brightly in your heart wherever you path leads.
Your Facilitator:
Fiona Horne
Back in the 90's, Fiona Horne launched a career in the entertainment industry as the lead singer of number one Aussie 90’s electro-rock band, Def FX, before continuing on to author many best-selling books on Modern Witchcraft. She is a popular radio and television personality, appearing on many programs around the world.
Fiona is also a commercial pilot, humanitarian aid worker, public speaker, world record holding skydiver, professional fire dancer, yoga instructor, freediver ... and experienced world traveller. Having lived and flown in the Caribbean for many years and travelled to many countries around the world she is a consumate and relaxed traveller.
At times Fiona has been a household name in Australia and featured on billboards across the USA for one of the original reality shows in 2006 that celebrated her life as a modern witch. Ultimately she stepped away from the limelight and retreated to the Caribbean to forge a new life as a humanitarian aid volunteer, animal rescuer, ultimately learning an entirely new skill at the age of 50, becoming a commercial pilot, working for a private charter company to become it's most requested captain, before the events of 2020 grounded airlines all over the world and saw Fiona return to her roots as a writer and entertainer.
At age 57, Fiona continues to motivate and inspire women from all walks of life with her fearless and free approach to living an unconventional life, not bound by societies' expectations, or parameters of what a woman should, could or would do at any age.
Always inspired – and led by the Divine Feminine, she is in service to you on your journey towards meeting yourself as the divine feminine force that you are.
